2014 Orphaned Starfish Foundation Gala
Julia Stiles attended the 2014 Orphaned Starfish Foundation Gala at Cipriani Wall Street on October 17, 2014 in New York City. OSF’s Annual New York gala brought together over 500 supporters from the world of business and entertainment high net-worth individuals including corporate and media executives, bankers, lawyers, hoteliers, and hedge-fund managers.
Several children who participated in the foundation’s programs were in attendance and informed contributors of the tremendous impact and importance of these programs. The event featured a red carpet, cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner and entertainment. Other celebrities that attended included Sammi Giancola, Miss Universe, Paula Garces and Dilia Jelen.

Julia Stiles attends the opening night of The Long Shrift
Julia Stiles decided to go elegant and classy for the opening night of The Long Shrift in New York City on Sunday. The 33-year-old actress wore a low cut green dress that she paired with a white blazer and beige heels.
The Save the Last Dance star wore her hair down and kept her makeup light as she stepped out for the evening, posing for the camera alongside actor James Wirt. James and Julia will be appearing together in Scott Organ’s play Phoenix, a quirky comedy about a one-night-stand that has long-term implications.
James will play her love interest and Jennifer DeLia will direct. Phoenix begins performances on July 28 and opens Aug. 7.
Julia will also be in a few projects on the big screen this year including horror film Out Of The Dark. The thriller centres around a couple and their daughter who move to Columbia in order to take over a family manufacturing plant and find out their new home is haunted.
Other stars attending the opening night included The Long Shrift’s director, James Franco, who starred in Oz the Great and Powerful and Ally Sheedy, who stars in the play.

Julia Stiles Returns to New York Stage in Phoenix
Julia Stiles will return to the New York stage for the first time in five years, starring off-Broadway in director Jennifer DeLia’s production of Scott Organ’s dark romantic comedy Phoenix.
Co-starring with Stiles in the two-hander is James Wirt, who is also slated to appear with the actress in DeLia’s upcoming film The First, with Lily Rabe, Michael Pitt, Billy Magnussen andLouisa Krause.
In Phoenix, Stiles and Wirt play a mismatched couple who meet again four weeks after a one-night stand. She had a good time but prefers to close the door on the possibility of a future relationship with him, while he feels compelled to follow her 4,000 miles to the title destination.
The one-act play was previously presented in New York in 2010. This fresh take starts previews July 28 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, with an official opening night set for Aug. 7. The limited engagement is scheduled to run through Aug. 23.
Stiles’ last New York stage appearance was opposite Bill Pullman in the 2009 Broadway revival ofDavid Mamet’s Oleanna. Her previous off-Broadway roles have included Fran’s Bed by James Lapine in 2005, starring Mia Farrow; and the 2002 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night, with Zach Braff, Jimmy Smits and Oliver Platt.
A film adaptation of Phoenix is in development, with Amy Redford attached to direct.
Producers on the off-Broadway run are Julie Pacino, Poverty Row Entertainment, Rian Patrick Durham and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.
